‘Calendar Girl’ by Georgia Beers is a well written sweet workplace romance. It has all the elements of a good contemporary romance, and if you like this type of story you will like ‘Calendar Girl’. It even has an ice queen for a major character.
Addison Fairchild and Katie Cooper both have some fairly major family issues, with Addison even developing health problems that end up with the two working together in a manager/subordinate situation at Addison’s family business. There is attraction, but also many elements of the story keeping them apart. The book also contains a fair bit of angst.
I really like Georgia Beers writing and I do like this story. The characters are well developed, the story keeps you reading, and I did connect with Addison and especially Katie.
I’m giving this book a solid four stars, and I really wanted to give it a five, but I just couldn’t. While this is a book that I could see myself reading more than once, I didn’t really like the ending. I wanted the story to go a bit further than it did. It is a good ending. I just wanted more.
I received an ARC from Net Galley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review.
