Stormy Seas by Ali Vali is one of those books that I’ve been waiting months to get my hands and eyes on. I need to confess that I am a huge fan of Ms. Vali’s writing. Taking that confession into account, I greatly enjoyed this book.

This action–adventure novel continues the story that began in Blue Skies, the first book in this series. Commander Berkley (Cletus) Levine and Captain Aidan Sullivan are still in the Navy, as they had promised the president in the last book that they would help him root out the traitors attempting to overthrow the government. This is not easy to do since the leader of the rogue militia is the ex-vice president who has managed to infiltrate his followers into positions in the government and armed forces. Things become more and more deadly for our main characters even with the help of their family, friends and fellow soldiers.

Stormy Seas is an action packed thriller that Ms. Vali should be proud of. This book has the same feel to it as some of Ms. Vali’s best action stories, such as books in the Devil and the Calling the Dead series. This includes the unexpected twists and turns of the plot as well as the steamy romance that you always find in her stories. You even get to revisit some old friends from a few of her other novels. I love when an author does that, it’s like visiting old friends as you read.

This is one book that adventure lovers must read. However, Stormy Seas is not a standalone novel, so I also urge you to read both books in this series in order. That way you won’t miss a single moment of the thrills and get a better understanding of what is happening and why. Both books are exceptional and well worth your reading time.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review, but you can get a copy here
